Retro-walk #19 : Pudupet – “Chor Bazaar”

This Sunday, walking down the lanes of Pudupet, with thousands of dedicated shops selling everything from spare parts, niche products to mechanical maintenance and modification services. This ‘Chor Bazaar’ is the place to go to for cost-effective makeover of any vehicle. The market has stood the test of decades and many police raids to restore countless automobiles to their original glory !

Towards the end, visiting Komaleeswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva as Komaleeswarar. This area around the temple is known as Komaleeswaranpet but popularly referred to as Pudupet.

We’ll be walking down the Harris Road aka Adithanar Salai to spot the following across the route:-

Major Attractions :
1. Venkatachala Naicken St – Two wheeler spares
2. Adithanar Salai (Harris Road) – Lorry & Van spares
3. South Kuvam River St – Body Parts (Cars and Vans)
4. Sadhu St – Komaleeswarar Temple

Meeting/Starting Point : Casino Theater

Route :

Date : 28th June’15, Sunday, 630am

Note :

1.Park your vehicles near the starting point, unless you want your bike or car parts finding their way to the specialized shops.

2.No need for Registrations, just land up at the Starting Point at the mentioned date/time.
